MOOCs and online HE – Quality Strengthening

From International Association of Universities (IAU) E-Bulletin – Vol. 11

The Accreditation Organisation of the Netherlands and Flanders (NVAO) has published MOOCs and online HE. A survey which looks at the potential of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), blended learning, and online education in general to strengthen the quality of programmes in higher education.

The NVAO approaches this issue from three perspectives: Dutch/Flemish, European, and global.

The German Rectors’ Conference (HRK) published a position paper on MOOCs in the context of digital teaching in June 2014 to determine whether higher education institutions should offer digital teaching formats via commercial platforms or whether independent alternatives should be developed.
