Hidden Competences

From International Association of Universities (IAU) E-Bulletin – Vol. 11.

CIMO, together with a Helsinki-based think tank (DEMOS Helsinki), has published the report Hidden Competences.

It summarises the findings of a project that examined how Finnish employers rated the skills and knowledge acquired through international experiences in recruitment.

While language skills, cultural knowledge and tolerance have often been understood to be the basis of international competences, three new factors were now recognized:

-productivity,
-resilience and
-curiosity.
